Reaching consensus can be very energy and time consuming, but it allows people to take responsibility and to broadly accept - though not necessarily love - decisions. Apart from that, we have an 'office community' dynamic and everybody in the office takes a share in cooking and running the daily tasks. *Project Co-ordinators* - Co-ordinate the organisation of all eyfa gatherings and activities, which involves: dealing with the applications and including participants data in our contact data base, keeping permanet communication and update with participants and partner organisarions, preparing documents and materials for the programme and co-ordinating the logistics preparation. - Co-ordinate the feedback and communication with the projects that EYFA is involved with in Amsterdam and abroad. - Manage the eyfa network-list and gen-dist-list, sending updates, making sure they function well, liasing with the contact organisations and not getting to the point that the e-lists are silent. - Deal with daily emails and requests regarding potential new projects and partnerships with eyfa. - Write the narrative part of the eyfa projects report. - Liase with the financial co-ordinator and participate in the fundraising applications writing. - Liase with the EVS co-ordinator and help putting together the EVS applications and reports at times. office tasks Moreover, there are some everyday tasks that everyone takes part in: - Maintain system for archiving both in paper and electronic - Make working plan for the office & schedules office facilities when needed - Make sure equipment & materials are OK and get more materials when needed - Know who is doing what in the office (task distribution) - Ensure the mail gets collected, sorting it out and replying to all requests (dealing with faxes, voice mail, etc). - Update and mantain the web site and develop the eyfa WIKI pages. - Prepare eyfa office meetings, take minutes, send them to the network list. - Cook lunch, clean the office, give water to the plants, ... All these tasks involve a lot of paper work as well as a good amount of hours in front of the computer. But it is not only the bad part of the story. Working in EYFA office gives you the freedom to work in your own style and time and allows you to develop your own contacts in and around the eyfa office. You will also learn a lot, given the access to interesting pieces of environmental and social information and being able to meet people involved in the craziest initiatives in the world. Attention: we do not expect that the candidate will possess all the skills necessary to conduct that tasks from the beginning. The training will be provided, and believe us: we have just learnt these skills ourselves; they are not so difficult to learn. what are we offering? The possitions are all in the eyfa office in Amsterdam (The Netherlands). At eyfa you will get a basic allowance (490 Euros) to cover the living expenses, accommodation allowance (300 Euros) the same as everyone else in the office, travel to Amsterdam and eyfa meetings paid, as well as health insurance. Important: Unfortunatelly, this position can not help to get any visa or residence permit in The Netherlands, as all eyfa staff are 'volunteers' and not 'employees'. *what are the requirements?* - Availability - at least 12 months, with a trying period of one month (but be open to stay a year and a half or more) - Good communication skills - Ability to be a self-starter and work well independently as well as in the group - Good organizational skills, planning, time scheduling - Knowledge of computers - Experience of work in non-profit and non-hierarchical groups, campaigns or direct action groups - Familiar with fundraising - Willingness to take equal part and responsibility in eyfa consensus based community
