The initiative supports climate protection projects in developing, newly industrialising and transition countries and complements the Federal Government's existing international, multi- and bilateral cooperation. The financial support will rendered to projects working for "climate protection especially reducing greenhouse gases, improving adaptability to the consequences of climate change and conserving and sustainably using climate-relevant areas which merit projects.
